One of the ways school governors discharge their duties is by making visits to the school to observe the school in action. Governors receive training in how to conduct an effective visit and provide feedback to the full governing board on the school’s progress. Most school governors are not educational specialists so, unlike an Ofsted visit, governor visits are not formal “inspections”. Our visits focus on specific areas of the School Improvement Plan and at Sandridge, are directed by a coordinating team of the Curriculum Committee.
