At Sandridge, we recognise the importance of parents and teachers working together and the benefits of home/school links. Parents will be kept informed about topics being covered through the curriculum letter which is sent out either at the beginning or end of each term, or half term depending on length of topics, giving parents the opportunity to support children at home.
In Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 there is an expectation that parents read with their children every day. The children may be given spelling, times tables, a piece of English and some maths work to complete. Often they will be asked to bring in things related to a topic being studied in the class.
In Key Stage 2 children will be set at least one formal piece of homework each week. There is also an expectation that all children are reading and discussing books regularly with their parents.
Activities will not always be a piece of written work.
