Mayor’s Civic Service St Alban’s Cathedral

Our Choir performed at St Albans Cathedral during the Civic Service for the Mayor. We were the only school invited and were asked to sing two songs during the service. Along with the Mayor, there were many dignitaries attending and it was quite an experience for all of us to see them arriving in their splendid regalia. It was also an incredible and inspiring experience for the choir to see and hear the Cathedral Choir perform a number of pieces.
The Sandridge School choir were wonderful. They performed ‘Kum bah yah’ and ‘Another Day in Paradise’. They not only sang beautifully in two and three part harmony (something that surprised many in the audience) but they also behaved impeccably. The soloists (Rhea, Charlotte and Josie) sang with perfect precision and suitable gusto and every member of the choir sung in tune, holding their own harmony part superbly.
A large number of people at the Mayor’s reception after the service praised the singing and behaviour of the choir and we could not have been more proud of them all.
