We are now in our third year of The Daily Mile and all our children take part. It is a social physical activity, with children running or jogging – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. Children can occasionally walk to catch their breath, if necessary, but aim to run or jog for a full 15 minutes. The aim of The Daily Mile is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of our children – regardless of age, ability or personal circumstances. Each class calculates the number of miles they cover each week and the totals are announced by one of our sports leaders in our weekly celebration assembly. Year 4 have been setting a high standard recently and the other classes are keen to beat them.
The Daily Mile is a national initiative. For more details follow the link to the official website: https://thedailymile.co.uk/
